As I didn’t like the Phrecia end game with the idols, I rerolled to try a new ascendancy and a skill I had never played before. Here come my experience with Ancestral Commander Volcanic Fissure of Snaking.

I followed Goratha’s build for which he did this video before the league start and this update video a few days into it.

Levelling was pretty smooth as a second character with twink gear. I used Ground Slam into Sunder into Volcanic Fissure of Snaking. I kept it pretty tanky which allow me to finish the campaign in 6h24 without dying.

I levelled up until 92, did some T16, and timed myself doing the Eater of Worlds and Searing Exarch invitation to test the single target. DPS is not amazing but pretty good, mapping is solid and I only died 3 times so this ascendancy is super tanky.

My main concern was to press many buttons because we scale our damage with using many Warcry. But I’m lazy so I automated as many as I could and only kept 2 to press manually, one of them being Battlemage’s Cry automating my curse and Blood Rage so it wasn’t too bad. Overall this is a great league starter I would play again. On a regular ascendancy, I’m assuming it might be easier to get damage and harder to get defences.
